The Joe Mickey Corner mickspics@hotmail.com.
www.tibet.com

Joe has become such a regular pain ---- that we found it easier to give him his own little piece of his most hated pastime, and to let him keep complaining and misspelling everything that he doesn't copy and paste, put on your dunce cap before entering.

name: Joe Mickey

comment: Dear Mr. Murphy,

You have found it advantageous for quite some time to maintain a Joe Mickey Cornor that I never requested. I am requesting that you remove my corner from your site and take off any referance to my name with regards to creating links via any means and through internet directories to your site and we let bygones be bygones. I have never authorized the use of my name in connection with the Lake County Free Press, its owners, agents or assigns. I am requesting that you remove my name and any referance to me from your site and on any directories that you use to connect people to your site.

If it is not in your nature to do so, then I an requesting that this letter to appear in full and without any edit as the introductory and top letter tin the "Joe Mickey Corner" for your visitors and readers that open this space.

Mr. Phil Murphy included me on his site when he named me on his site in an effort to use my reputation as a photographer to downgrade the reputation of another photograher. I have never authorized that use. At that time, I objected and I still object to this misuse of my name by Mr Murphy and the Lake County Free Press, his assigns and associates. I also object to Mr. Murphy's unauthorized use of my name in directories to further his reputation and that of the Lake County Free Press.

Further, Mr. Murphy and the Lake County Free Press have added links to interests which I have an interest in and these links provided by Mr. Murphy and the Lake County Free Press do not work. His link to www.tibet.com does not work and his link to www.tibetanphotoproject.com also fails and this is how Mr. Murphy and the Lake County Free Press works to discredit anyone who fails to agree with him or his effort.

In the "Joe Mickey Corner" that Mr. Murphy has linked to my name he has placed several notes and letters that are not written by me.

Overall, anyone who is exploring the credibility of the Lake County Free Press or anyone who is considering it as a valid means of recieveing information from, or sending information into the community should consider the example set by what Mr. Murphy has designed as this corner in my name. This is not a credible site, bur instead works on malice, slander and libel.

Should Mr. Murphy decide that leaving this association with my name and reputaiton on a site where it was never authorized or requested, certainly demonstrates that he considers this association valuable.

I would welcome any lawyers to contact me and would be very happy to explore exactly how valuable that association is for Mr. Phil Murphy and his assigns and associates.

Regards, Joe Mickey &emdash; April 25, 2002 mickspics@hotmail.com

www.tibetanphotoproject.com &emdash; or Catching up with Joe Mickey by Joe Mickey

A new site is on the web at www.tibetanphotoproject.com and I hope my friends in Lake County will have a look. The project is unique in that there are several photo essays on Tibetans taken by people who are looking in from the outside.

I have been sending cameras to a Monestary in southern India to a grop of monks living in exile and have been getting back some very wonderful results. A presentation of these images is in the works for Mendocino College in Ukiah in the spring.

While the current focus of all the news is Afgansitan, sooner or later, and better sooner we, as a nation and as individuals we need to understand the nature of the Government in China and because they have escaped or left China the Tibetnas are free to provide an insiders perspective. The site provides and introductory course and I would reccommend further study to anyone who is the least bit interested in the growing role of China in world events.

The site offers some suggestions in book, video, and net links so to all my friends in Lake County I hope you'll take a look and then come back to the site when we have the Gallery up.

Visually, Joe Mickey

A final note to Free P readers. I have been put here because a long time ago because Phil Murphy and a team of anonymous "reporters" were offended by the fact that I did not feel it was a compliment to have Phil use my name, with out my permission to berate the work of another photographer. I still feel that way and so Phil changed his opinion of my work. I was so hurt, but Phil has a huge ego and can not stand to have people dissagree with him on any subject. He is of great harm to anything constructive in Lake county.

He feels he is the only person with the answers, which he never gives because he is too busy making personal attacks and reporting on people he does not even talk to, I am a perfect example of how Phil approaches reporting. He attacks and vilifies and slanders and still I have never talked to him and at this point do not want to. Can you blame me? In fact if he wre to call me now I'd report him to the police for harassment and use this site to prove my case. But I urge you to watch his answers. You need to be aware of just how angry and out of control he is and how his ego and need to be seen as important drives him. Nearly every dissagrement on every issue now carries my name and I think at this point the boy is just plain harmful to Lake County. If you want something useful go to www.tibet.com and travel quietly and in peace. I saw a lot of you a couple weeks back and I appreciate the good wishes.

Best regards, Joe Mickey

Joe,

You claimed that Judi was such a blessing to the world due to the fact that she shows up at charity events and throws some cash around, but seem to forget that
A: that money she is donating generally belongs to the paper, not her, and is usually a tax -dodge disguised as a gift/promotional tool.
B: many of the things she is involved with have as many social aspects to them as any substance. and
C: She has the time and energy to do those things because she doesn't do any real work at her pretend job at the paper, you know the paper Joe, it's where your ex-coworkers toil away so Judi can afford to go on her ego trip.

Phil Murphy

Phil, Joe Mickey here. Hadn't been by the site in long while. So a new attack on Judi and the Bee. Whats the deal, they still won't give you a job?

I was just in Lake County. Judy was at another Charity event. As Long as I've known her she really seems to have endless stamina to volunteer, donate time, money and resources. I'd sure like to see your list of community service next to hers. Problem with you is that unless you do it you don't think anyone else can do it right. and the bigger problem is all you do is grumble. . Put this in my corner cause I know your afreaid that foks might see it. Free Press. same old crap new day.

Joe Mickey

Joe,

Fuck you and the horse you rode into town on. I will put my resume of public service up against the self-serving bullshit that Judi has done anyday. And speaking of lightweights, lets all hear about the countless hours of hard labor you have done in the name of humanity. Oh, that's right you haven't done anything in your useless, self-centered, meaningless life that didn't have something to do with Joe coming out ahead. And I have had more than enough of this one-sided thing you have against China, you are such a dumb ass that you forget that this country has done and will continue to do things as bad as China and worse, because this country is full of thumb sucking half-wits like yourself who can't seem to get the concept of the big picture into their tiny craniums, and then show up at the voting booth with their pointy little heads stuck firmly up their fat, lazy ass's and sentence us to another term of clulessness. Go piss in another direction, and let the grown-ups handle that voting thing for you, there is no money in it so I am sure you wouldn't be interested anyway.

Just wish he'd do a decent job in watching who elses stuff he fills it with... But that kind of care is the nature of this whole site.

comment: Dear Folks: Not every thing in this cornor is mine but it is how this site has decided to handle complaints. Also I would like to add that Phil Purphy edits what I offer when my opinions point out his large ego and the fact that he can not accept any comment with out an insult. You might want to question why Phil has put the beligerent heading on this cornor when you read the following info. Meanwhile I enjoyed a great week covering the Tibetans while they were in Mendocino and again I would urge you to introduce yourself to the nature of China and the Tibetan situation through www.tibet.com.

Regards Joe Mickey

comment: Interesting that this site would post a story by beer boy about stopping an arms race while it supports a richer Chinese government through the recent trade agreement. see Phils notes in our discussion. Note that I pointed out that as China's economy is growing its military spending is growing even faster. Maybe not today but consider the future and as an individual just say no to the "made in China" Label.

Joe Mickey

comment: Hey Phil whats the deal with my cornor. You put all the letters you can't handle there...poor site management or what?

For news on China you could trust Phil Murphy's judgement or you might do a"China" search at www.cnn.com

Readers, I know Phil thinks China is a backwards little country but here is a site that will help you with your understanding of China: www.scmp.com.hk www.scmp.com.hk

comment: Just like to tell folks about a couple of web sites: www.tibet.com and www.savetibet.org. Enjoy. If your coming to the coast from July 11 through the 15 check out the Tibetan event that is being offered through Gloriana Opera Company.

Well there you have it are there any officers out there who want to tell everyone what really goes on in the law enforcement departments of Lake County or just anonymous junior informants.

comment: You have no idea what goes on in the Jail, or for that matter in Law Enforcement.

Yes, I do know what goes on in jail and in law enforcement agencies, and I know something else too, and it is that people that send anonymous e-mails are generally chicken-shit cowards. The fact that you have not presented any evidence to support your view suggests that you are the one who doesn't know what the hell they are talking about. The cops have the Sheriff, their union reps and the ass-kissing media types like the Record-Bee's Jim Hill to present their perspective, and the people on the other side of the bars have us. Seems more than fair to me, so why don't you do us all a favor and shut the fuck up or give us a REAL reason why we should not tell the other side of the story. Phil Murphy

comment: This was sent to me by a friend. Whether you love him or hate him, read this "letter"...it's too good to pass by. Hate it as you may, you can't argue with it. If you are a supporter you may want to delete this now, if you read it you may question your reasons for supporting him.

LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT

It needed to be said.

Written by Eric Jowers, a retired Army Officer. He served as a public affairs officer at Fort Rucker from 1989 to 1991. He now lives in Ozark, Alabama.

Dear Mr. President:

It's not about sex. If it were about sex, you would be long gone.Just like a doctor, attorney or teacher who had sex with a patient, client or student half his age, you would have violated the ethics of your office and would be long gone. Just like a Sergeant Major of the Army, Gene McKinney, who though found not guilty, was forced to resign amid accusations of sexual abuse.

Remember the Air Force General you wouldn't nominate to be Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Because, he freely admitted to an affair almost 15 years before, while he and his wife were separated? Unlike you, he was never accused of having a starry-eyed office assistant my daughter's age, perform oral sex on him while he was on the phone and his wife and daughter were upstairs.

If it were about sex, you should be subjected to the same horrible hearings that Clarence Thomas was subjected to because of the accusations of Anita Hill. The only accusation then, was that he talked dirty to her; he didn't even leave semen stains on her dress.

No, it's not about sex. It's about character. It's about lying. It's about arrogance. It's about abuse of power. It's about dodging the draft and lying about it.

When caught in a lie by letters you wrote, you concocted a story that nobody believed. But we excused it and looked away. It's about smoking dope, and lying about it. "I didn't inhale," you said. Sure, and when I was 15 and my buddies and I swiped a beer from an unwatched refrigerator, we drank from it, but we didn't swallow.

"I broke no laws of the United States," you said. That's right, you smoked dope in England or Norway or Moscow, where you were demonstrating against the U.S.A. You lied, but we excused it and looked away. It's about you selling overnight stays in the White House to any foreigner or other contributor with untraceable cash. It's about Whitewater and Jim and Susan McDougal and Arkansas, Gov. Jim Guy Tucker and Vincent Foster and Jennifer Flowers and Paula Jones and Karen Willey and nearly countless others.

It's about stealing the records from Foster's office while his bodywas still warm and putting them in your bedroom and "not noticing them"for two years.

It's about illegal political contributions. It's about you and Al Gore soliciting contributions and selling influence at Buddhist temples and in the same Oval Office where Abraham Lincoln and Franklin Roosevelt led their countries through the dark days of wars that threatened the very existence of our nation. But we excused you and looked away.

It's about hiding evidence from Ken Starr, refusing to testify, filing legal motions, coaching witnesses, obstructing justice and delaying Judge Starr's inquiry for months and years. Then complaining that it has gone on too long.

The polls agreed. Thank goodness that Judge Starr didn't read the polls, play politics or excuse you and look away. He held on to the evidence like a tenacious bulldog.

Your supporters say that you've confessed your wrong doings and asked for our forgiveness. Listen, what you said on TV the night you testified to the grand jury was not a confession; overwhelming evidence is not a confession at all, not that it would make a lot of difference.

A murderer who contritely confesses his crime is still a murderer.

When your "confession" didn't sell, even to your friends, you became more forthcoming. Maybe someday you'll confess more, but probably not.

You've established such a pattern of lying that we can't believe you anymore. Neither can your cabinet, the Congress or any of the leaders of the nations of the world.

When a leader's actions defame and emasculate our country as profoundly as yours have, it's no longer a personal matter, as you claim. It's no longer a matter among you, your family and your God.

Remember the sign over James Carvill's desk during the l992 campaign? It said, "It's the economy, stupid! Place this sign over your desk, "It's about character, stupid!"

No, it's not about sex, Mr. President. If it were, you would be long gone.

It's about character; but we have to live with your filth, lies and arrogance for a while longer.

Your lies, amorality and lack of character have been as pervasive as they have been despicable, so we have no reason to believe that you will quietly resign and go away.

You'll count on half-truths and spin doctors to see you through, the country be damned. It has always worked before. We excused you and looked the other way.

No more, we've had enough. You betrayed us enough. You have made every elected official; minister, teacher, diplomat, parent and grandparent in the country apologize for you and explain away your actions.

Now go away, and let us show them that our country was not without morals.

It was just that you were. Let us show them that America was not the problem. William Jefferson Clinton was. Go away, Mr. President. Leave us alone and when you leave, know that your legacy to the United States of America will be a stain on the Office of the President that is as filthy as the stain on Monica's dress. It will take a lot of scrubbing to make it clean again.

If you agree with this letter send it to as many people as possible!

On China: There are 750 million farmers in China and little or no environmental enforcement or rule in the use of herbacides or pestacides. All this washes down stream and that is just one reason that China is the #1 polluter in the World today. It isn't all just car emmissions Phil. Get your facts in order first then open mouth. YES, folks the Free press has reached new heights in journalistic excelence. It has recently printed a letter from Henry Luce (an old news guy). Henry was the co-founder of Time Magazine and has been dead a while but that doesn't stop these fact checkers here at the Free Press. And dear reader when you want more of the same fine reporting be sure to check in here at the Free Press. There is still a lot we can make up for your reading and entertainment pleasure. By the way have you opened any of our "new" stories lately. No not the old "new" stories but the new "new" stories. comment: A Post Script on China. On Pollution China is mineing and deforesting both China and Tibet with no concern for citizens or countries down stream. The U.N. has labeled China one of the worst polluters on the globe dispite what Phile Murphy might pretend to know.

On Its military China is spending most of its import dollars on technology...weapons technology...It may soon aquire some of the latest flight technology from Isreal. Phil must have missed this one too.

May I suggest to readers to put "Tears Of Blood" by Mary Craig, "In Exile From the Land Of Snows" by John Avedon or "Whispered Prayers" by Steven Harrison on their reading list even if Phil does not see the takeover of Tibet (the size of Europe) as expansionist

On a boycott of Chinese made goods. every dollar you spend on the Made in China Label adds to the ability of the government to oppress the Chinese people since the government is a partner or owner of most exporting firms in China.
And thats just a sample of what is wrong with Phils thinking on this issue.

but Thanks for ths space to say so. Joe

Joe, Joe, Joe, I could make a life's work out of correcting you. First of all, you have to get in the habit of putting facts and figures in perspective. The USA comprises about 4% of the earth's population, but we consume 25% of the resources used by man. We have military power that is out of proportion to a similar degree, and have used our armed forces to subjugate nations in Asia,Africa, north and south America and Europe. We have an enormous lead in high technology, and have most of the countries on this planet by their financial short hairs thanks to our banking and investment industries.

So when you say the Chinese are spending more on their military, who cares? The Chinese navy is almost non-existent, their air force is full of antique aircraft and has no first rate equipment or pilots, and uses out-dated tactics. The Chinese army? They may have the largest standing army on the planet, but again the numbers are misleading. Poorly trained, paid and armed, it is fair to question how many would desert the moment the fighting began, and a serious military misadventure could easily fuel a civil war. Also, the army will for many years continue to use tanks, artillery and tactics better suited to re-fighting the Korean war than contesting a modern military conflict.

So Chinese farmers and industries pollute their rivers? No large river flows from a major agricultural or industrial region in China into another country, almost all of China's big rivers flow into the ocean, so there is no significant cross-border contamination. The United States sends a huge amount of airborne contamination north to Canada every year, and causes large scale damage to the Canadian environment. I don't like people tolerating unnecessary pollution anywhere, but the fact is that the average American creates a hell of a lot more garbage of all types than the average Chinese. Do you see Chinese companies creating eco-disasters like bio-engineered food, and then attempt to force these ticking time bombs on the other nations of the world, like American companies do? China has many political, social and economic problems, but if you are going to boycott them because of their failings then you better have a clean house yourself, and we don't. Using your logic the country that should be boycotted is the good old USofA, not China.

So how can our leaders effect change in China? Bring dissidents to the White House, press human rights issues at summit meetings, publicly and vocally support the groups in China that are working for democracy, demand to see imprisoned leaders when visiting, and do all you can to keep communication open between China and the rest of the world.

comment: Phil is your site dead or are you censoring all the letters that point up your ignorance. By the Way China and pollution. 750 million farmers, the last country on earth to ban ddt and meanwhile there is virtually no policy on pesticides. It's not just cars, Phil baby and by are you ignorant.

Thanks for your sight, when I see you coming I'll know I am in the the presense of a mental midget.
