I am answering your e-mails and your letter to the Editor of the Clearlake Observer American, Feb. 25th, & 28th. (Your response Schorfiede has an agenda)

 

The following pages are true facts and unanswered questions and none of these are accusations or allegations. Nothing is fabricated. This will be an open letter to you as an elected official.

 

You have completed your first term and got re-elected but you still don't know how to be a role model. You obviously don't know the difference of dress code occasions on a buffalo field or in the Supervisor Chambers. You wear buffalo field clothing every Tuesday instead of business suit. You definitely know when to wear the Santa suit. Luckily, you did not win the assembly seat- you most likely would have gone to Sacramento in a clown outfit. Well 1 out of 4 isn't bad in your case. Personally I give a rat's ass what you wear. Oops! That was supervisor Gary Lewis's phrase. (Every Tuesday B.O.S. meeting lot of laughing going on; have someone record the laughing only, it might become a best seller). We need the money for Rodney's blunders. Talking about phrases, at every B.O.S. meetings, you come up with more name-calling to your constituencies, i.e. "trailer trash" and "dirt bag" (See TV segment of B.O.S. meetings). By the way, you did say trailer trash not mobile homes like you did explained yourself with crocodile's tears. Well those callings fit you perfectly. As you know you lost my vote for future elections. I wouldn't vote for you if you were running for landfill supervisor, although you have much experience as seen with your private trash dump approx. 1 acre in front of your residence for the last 25 years. Getting rid of the mountain with an amnesty day saved you thousands and thousands of dollars in dump fees? I call that theft of public funds. Why don't you suggest this loophole to everyone in your abatement proceedings.

 

Remember the "swearing in" picture shown in January Record Bee Edition, where you posed with Anthony Farrington and Ed Robey? You had your hand in a fist like the Black Panther did in the 60's. What a role model! May I suggest you get some tutoring lessons from Supervisor Anthony Farrington, he is the most knowledgeable and respectable Supervisor out of all of you, as the last election result showed, you do not hear any vice-cracking by him. He is a state or Federal level politician, unlike the rest of your local good "Old Boys Club", School Board and Water District experienced politicians and like to be legislators and governors.

 

The last supervisor meeting where you had the job shadow day, I hope you did not tell your shadow don't show up with a tie, what a role model! However, the most hypocritical picture I saw in February was where Ed Robey proclaimed Black History Month. Everyone knows the Sheriff Dept. throughout all divisions does not employ one single African American! His excuse: "No applicant". You know three years ago the Grand Jury criticized the County government for not exercising the equal employment opportunity law. Remember when I called you to check into the Sheriff's unfair racist hiring practice against the people of Lake County? It was very easy for you to find out that 98% of the deputies were hired from out of County. Well, by having you check into that matter, boy did I step in a "Gang of Six" snake pit and you turned into the anaconda. Little did I know, that there was a lot of back scratching going on within our County government. Speaking of scratching….every year a detective comes in front of the B.O.S. from the J. Edgar Hoover Regime, (Sheriff Mitchell), and promises a zero tolerance for domestic violence issues. Well, one example- one of many. Two years ago, the local news broadcast a report of a domestic violence assault in Hidden Valley Lake. An arrest was made of a person I used to know and he just so happened to be a Grand Jury member. What ever happened to that case? Was the person ever prosecuted or was there some major back scratching going on?

Throughout your last election I questioned your first term accomplishments published in the local Clearlake paper, Feb. 25th, 2004. I wrote about what you were doing better than previous Supervisor Merriman. Your phony membership with the Lake County Sheriff's Advisory Board, really never existed since you, nor Mitchell could give me an actual list of members or minutes. I had also questioned you on how many jobs you brought into the county, other than your own. They were not allegations or ranting, they were simple questions and facts. But those simple questions must have really unhinged you. As for your letter to the Editor, dated Feb. 28th, 2004 wherein you misspelled my name and dragged my family and my daughter into it. What a role Model! And it shows what a sleazy character you are. By the way, you called twice on the Brown Act Investigation, big headline in the local paper Record Bee, Jan. 8th, 2004,Brown Act Investigation launched when you said: "I consider this a very serious violation…" what ever happened with that?

 

In your letter to the Editor you wrote that my legit questions were ranting remarks. That word did not come from you; in fact it was used by Phil Murphy in a letter on his website, lakecountyfreepress.com written to you. By the way, very interesting website about our local politicians. See "Open letter to Sheriff Mitchell"

 

To clarify your re-election pamphlet, where you wrote under education: As a 3rd Generation Lake County Resident, I am dedicated to protecting our community and preserving our small town quality of life, ?wow? You do however have a bail bonds business, and have the Sheriff available to you at the snap of your finger to fetch for you or by cell phone- which you shouldn't be using to call the Sheriff for favors, it can be overheard. Don't forget the way he ran his department into the ground, showing no respect to the Citizens of Lake County other than 10 days before election every 4 years.

 

 

Let me remind you of his money waste over the last 10 years. You are very well informed with the jailhouse's roof which was leaking for 4 years and was repaired on an emergency basis at double the cost. Any good businessman would have had that roof repaired in a non-emergency condition. Since you own 4 business I think you should know better. Apparently J. Edgar has found better loopholes under Governor Arnold Scharzenegeer than he did with Gray Davis, promoting almost every officer to a sergeant or detective and deputy chief in order to keep them here. Anyone left to promote? The promotions cost a lot of money for Lake County tax payers. Solution, hire locally and nobody will leave!

 

Indent equipment and computers are being purchased without low bid. A used $13,000.00 trailer was purchased on an emergency basis, where as Ed Robey told the sheriff: "Sure Buddy, bring the purchase order here and we will pay for it" The biggest money waste can be seen at 832 Lakeport Blvd., where the Superior Court rented this facility as a court chamber. Remodeling the building at the wasted cost of approx. $120,000.00, new benches, judge chamber, sign, etc…included. A $900.00 monthly rent, most likely with a 20 years lease whereas our Sheriff and his close advisor Jeffrey decided not to provide security at this location, so the rumor says. Rumors are called leaks in Washington D.C. and this is being used for storage. To my surprise the landlord is none other than the City of Lakeport so no lease cancellation is allowed. This was investigated by our back scratching Grand Jury 2003-2004, complaint no. 7 but was dropped like a hot potato, see: Lake County Grand Jury Final Report, wherein it reads: No information to confirm complaint. Just drive by the evidence is still there, sign etc.. You should know since you sign the rent check. So much for our Lake County Grand Jury system. Every time this is being looked at, a phony secretary is being placed in the front cupboard office to cool things down. Here is an even bigger waster of money. Remember when you supplied me with the names of every law enforcement officers from deputies to sergeants, detectives to chief deputies and lieutenant and their salaries, from Sheriff, Coroner, jail and dispatch including retirees. Well that list is in my possession and for instance it shows Chief Deputy James Bowman as a director of the Citizens Academy and getting $82,152.00 annually plus car and all the perks. Not too bad for training local citizens at a tremendous expense and up to 257 participants so far. My question: is this Citizens Academy a huge back scratching for campaign contribution in order to get a gun permit? According to Mr. Green's interview by James Bowman, his answer was: "Sorry by invitation only"! The same Chief Deputy was in charge of training for the last few years whereas he had 5 training officers and none of them went to training school. This was in my complaint to the Grand Jury under: Complaint #5 which states: Correctional Officers are training new employees without being jail training officer certified themselves. Basically none of these training officers have attended a training officer course, which was received by Grand Jury Foreman William L. Tett, March 19th, 2004. Now, this will not look good in the Cocking's Family lawsuit, but here he is training the public at Citizens Academy. Sheriff Mitchell has jail guards working at the "Abu-Ghraib" jail on Hill Road run by Rosie and Jeffrey, the dream team chief custody officer Eyerly with no post certificate and getting $77,085.00. Compare this amount with what school teacher earn. The real commander at the jail Rosie Townsend clocks in with $62,269.00 plus approx. $22,000.00 on overtime a year, also no post certificate, compare this with IHSS salaries. What Rosie wants at the jail, Jeffrey ok's without problem. You are very familiar with my request every year and no change have been made for the past 10 years under Mitchell's shift. The overtime is steady at the jail with approx. $60,000.00 every month. Hiring and firing keeps this dollar amount steady every month and year after year to insure security on overtime. We have trained a 47 year-old Lake County sheriff's jail employee at the police academy with food and lodging, full salary, mileage, everything paid, including gun, who went to the Yuba College Academy at Marysville in 2001 and who is now a detective collecting in at $75,000.00+ detective on call stand-by assignment of $4,198.00. This is Gary Basor who may retire in the next 8 to 10 years. Not to bad after 3 years out of police academy. Any back scratching here? (Don't forget these $ amounts are information you provided me with)

 

 

Why can't we spend that amount of money and train local people fresh out of high school or college, knowing they would stay here for 25 or 30 years? By doing so, choose the equal employment opportunity, use the job shadows and not always your back scratching candidates. As long as you pay approx. $120,000.00 per month in all law enforcement divisions in Lake County on overtime then there should not be any talk whatsoever of any layoffs or hiring freeze in county government. As you can see there are bad mechanics, bad doctors, bad governors, bad supervisors and of course with this evidence, we have a bad Sheriff. Last election 3 years ago, from 30,000.00 registered voters in Lake County only 9900 votes for Rodney and the numbers are shrinking, popularity is going sour?

 

If you want to know how much I paid for the past 35 years on local politicians blunders you may want to go up to the assessor's office and check on my name, but this time use the correct spelling. Cops always go by scenarios, Here is one: Rodney Mitchell is up for re-election next year. Of course there will be no challenger and if anyone from his department dares to run against him for Sheriff that person will be in a dungeon in a day with his own desk. Two years after re-election, which will bring his service to 25 years and possible retirement, he will gladly appoint one of his own buddies to take over, keeping the regime alive. Just like Fidel and his brother Raoul. This is called democracy in Lake County and we are trying to teach this to the world? By the way you may want to tell Lieutenant Jeffrey Markham who makes $91,274.00 + 60 hours sick leave cash out = $3000.00 + car etc, etc. to stick around he could become Raoul and get $111,074.00. As you explained in your letter to the Editor, "You don't expect the Sheriff to lower his standards with the hiring practice simply because they are local", Feb. 28th, 2004, Record Bee, so are people in Lake County at a lower standing with you? Nothing is lower than the Sheriff showing up with a snickers bar in his duty belt to recruit cadets at the local Yuba College Police Academy in Marysville. Is that the reason he is sending students to the Sonoma Academy instead? What a bad choice again. Yuba College hires so many teachers within Lake County. As you know, with the chocolate bar, he dishonored the whole department and the morale could be no lower. Bad decision Proven by the upcoming Cocking's lawsuit at the jail, the mismanagement finally caught up with Rodney Mitchell who got us in a deep puka releasing someone with a 0.8 alcohol level from jail. Did anybody at the jail came up with a suicidal scenario excuse? If so she or he should be nominated for the Lake County stars award under best idea or lots of back scratching!

 

Your explanation of embarrassment on behalf of my daughter and me is nothing compared to what you and your family must have to put up with. Receiving the most negative feedback letters out of all the County supervisors in the local paper can't be easy. See letters to the editor last 4-1/2 years, there are plenty. The reason is you are an arrogant hypocrite intoxicated by the power of your job self appointed ruler of Lake County. To answer your agenda question, of course I have an agenda to keep species like you (who never resign they should be recalled) and remind you that America was founded upon a system to insure that government officials represent the public, not just their own interest. You also called me a "Jurk en", I have this to tell you a phrase from "The Fockers", a recent movie, "If it looks brown flush it down" As we used to say in the late 60's "TIEP-TUC NOI-TIEP" Keep it up there is more.

 

Since I am in South East Asia I will not be able to answer any e-mail good or bad for a while and it is difficult for me to get e-mail address, so please send this letter to all your friends and cops, to activist Mr. James Henderson, is it "High Noon" yet April 9th 2004, Record Bee, also to activist Mr. Phil Murphy, so they know what kind of a slime ball you are. You may want to call the Brown Act upon yourself. What happens in Lake County stays in Lake County. " Can you hear me now"? Finally damage control: Lie and deny or use words like: bigoted, malicious, self serving, unscrupulous accuser, libelous and slanderous. Your buddy Rodney uses some of these words frequently to defend, clear and deny facts, Oh yeah, I forgot ranting.
