| The Mendocino School of Holistic Massage and Advanced Healing Arts is dedicated to quality education in the healing arts and the personal growth and betterment of our students and their future clients. We have developed our school with an eye for beauty and fun and work hard to create an atmosphere of nurturing community. The campus is in a home-based setting on 1.3 acres of forested land in Northern California's wine country where the air is clean and the environment rural, beautiful, and serene. |
| Our outside facility includes a shaded redwood deck we often use for classroom space during the warmer months, beautiful flower gardens with space for quiet reflection, patios for visiting with fellow students, and a deck in the sun for relaxation and fun. |
| Our inside facility includes a large and comfortable classroom, a piano, games, a large fireplace for gathering, and a lovely hot tub for your relaxation and enjoyment. |
| Overnight accommodations are $30 per person per night and are available Friday and Saturday nights only. Guest bedrooms are simple, and offer single and double occupancy. Outdoor campsites tucked in among the trees are also available. Whether you are looking for slumber party fun, a roomate to share with, or quiet solitude, we have it all here! Beautiful accomodations nearby are avilable with friends of the school. Please inquire. |
| Our food program is reasonably priced at $59 per weekend. Students are encouraged to participate in our delicious, health building organic catered meal program. We provide 2 lunches and 2 dinners. Meals are generous buffet style and include freshly made desserts! We can accomodate special dietary preferences. Please send in your food money ahead or pay the first day of class. |
| Things you should bring: - Large 3-ring notebook and pen - Loose comfortable clothing and shoes, flashlight - A water bottle is required - Massage students may purchase lotions or creams at the school - Apron with large pockets - Massage students must bring sheets for classroom use |
| Directions: By car - Redwood Valley is 115 miles north of San Francisco or East Bay. From these areas take Hwy 101 North through Santa Rosa, Cloverdale, Hopland and on to Ukiah, take the Hwy 20 East exit off 101. Travel approximately 2 miles and make a left turn onto Road A (at top of grade across from Lake Mendocino.) Come up the hill anr turn right onto Road B, proceed 1/4 mile. Road B curves left - continue on Road B one mile. 2680 Road B is on your right. Driving time from oakland is 2-1/2 hrs and from San Francisco is 2 hours. By air - San Francisco, Oakland, and Santa Rosa are the nearest airports. There is an Airporter van service from these areas to Santa Roas and/or Ukiah. You may make arrangements with our school staff for Ukiah pickups. Please call (707) 485-8197 or (707) 485-0619 for directions from other areas. |
