Conventional analog TV is divided into 3 frequency bands:
- Low VHF channels 2, 3 and 4 covering 54 to 72 MHz and channels 5 and 6 covering 76 to 87.75 MHz
- High VHF chennels 7 to 13 covering 174 to 216 Mhz
- UHF channels 14 to 69 covering 470 - 806 MHz
The US is moving to digital TV transmissions and the current VHF TV
band will be used for internet access. Digital will be in the 470
- 860 MHz band.The ham 70 cm band allocation for
repeater inputs is at 439.25 MHz (channel 438 - 444 MHz) fast scan
which corresponds to the cable TV channel 60.
