Birds of Interior Mendocino Co.: Spring Arrival Dates
This data has been collected by Chuck Vaughn and myself over a number of years. Tabled below are the earliest known arrival dates of some regular migrant and summer resident birds. In most years, of course, they arrive somewhat after these dates. The geographic area covered is the inland valleys and ridges of Mendocino Co., CA from Willits south through Hopland to the Sonoma county line and including Potter Valley, roughly the SE quarter of the county. Anyone with records which would add to or change anything below please contact me at the link at the bottom of the page. More data is needed on some sparse migrants (Olive-sided Flycatcher, Nashville Warbler) and for exclusively montane migrants (Green-tailed Towhee, Flamulated Owl, Dusky and Hammond's Flycatchers) -- George Chaniot
