The Center of Disneyland, commonly known as the Hub, has served many purposes over the years. During the birthday celebration for Disneyland's 30th, a giant "machine" was erected there, that allowed the lucky ticket holders to select their gift. Again for the 35th, it provided a location for a special event.
More recently, in fact just a couple of years ago, a beautiful life-size bronze statue was placed, depicting Walt Disney standing hand-in-hand with his creation, Mickey Mouse. This central statue is surrounded by small bronze pieces on individual pillars, featuring Donald, Goofy, Pluto and others. The main statue, title "Partners" is the perfect image of Walt and Mickey, without whose joint-venture there would be no Disneyland, and what better location than right in the Center of their most beautiful creation.
