comment: Grand Jury Out For Holidays!! I wrote a couple of times before this about my brother being beaten and left by the police in
a horriable condition and state of mind. There still hasn't been any attempt by the police of Clearlake City to contact my brother
and find out what had happened to him that night. Like I've said before it wouldn't do them any good, cause now he doesn't remember
anything about that night now. As I said before when we tried to report it the following day there was a note on the police door
stating they was closed for the holiday and wouldn't open until the 1st of Dec. Well it looks like the grand jury must be out too.
It's to late to find his assailants. But I want to know why the police officer that was there that morning, left my brother there,
possiablly dieing from his injuries, why he didn't get some kind of medical help for him. Why he felt it was so important to tell
his neighbors that he was high on drugs. I couldn't get any answers from!
the police so I wrote the grand jury in Kelseyville. Asking them to look into this matter for me. Make this officer explain to them
why he traded his badge in that morning and became a doctor. Find out how he justifies leaving my brother bleeding and complaining
of pain just because he thought he was on drugs. If he has did this once, how many other times has he did it? This officer and
police department needs to be investigated. Does the police there have so much power and install so much fear that even the grand
jury is afraid to look into this case. But they haven't responded in any way either. You would think they would at least write and
say there was nothing they can do, their looking into it. If they think for a minute that by ignoring me I'll go away they've got
another thought coming. I want answers for my questions if I don't get them there, I'll get them somewhere else. If this has
happened to anyone else or if they know of anyone they need to come forward and le!
t the grand jury know. The more people come forward the less they can hide. The more complaints the fewer they can sweep under the
rug. Come on citizens of Clearlake lets clean this police department up before someones dies.

suggest: Have the grand jury investigate not only this police officer but the entire police department

comment: In response to your phone call yesterday I would like to tell you about this story as best as I can. On Nov. 25th 2003 I
called my brother in Clearlake, when he answered the phone I couldn't understand what he was saying, so I gave my husband the phone
and he had the same problem, so we decided to drive up there from our home in Concord. On the way we called 911 for Clearlake and
ask someone to go out there and check on him because something was wrong with him.
They told us that they had already been out there and he was high on something and when he came down, he could call them again.
When we finally arrived we found him in a horrible state,
he had a knot on the back of his head, his ribs were broken, causing his lung to leak air out of the lung and into his body
cavity causing his entire body to swell. Including his tongue to the point that you could hardly understand anything he was saying,
by this time the lung had collapsed completely.
He was complaining of chest and back pain, his jaw was swollen like it had an apple in it, his feet and arms were bleeding.
It was pretty obvious he had been beaten. His front room was in complete disarray, curtains torn down,
shelves broken, chairs turned over, things thrown in the middle of the floor.
We called the paramedics and they immediately rushed him to the hospital. Where he spent the 13 days trying to recover
from his physical injuries as well as the mental complications caused from his brain being deprived from oxygen so long. He was in
and out of reality for over 12 days. We hadn't heard from the police department so the day after Thanksgiving we went to the police
department to see what if anything was being done about what had happened to my brother.
And to our shock and amazement they were closed for the holidays.
Anyway that was what the note on the door said, along with the closed locked doors.
We returned on Dec 1 upon the reopening the police department.
We asked the lady there what was going on with my brothers case?
She said they couldn't do anything until they talked to him.
My husband asked,"well are you going to go to the hospital and talk to him" and she just turned around and walked off,
leaving us standing there. A neighbor of my
brother saw the police there that morning and walked up there to check on him, they had been friends for years.
She wanted to call the paramedics but was told by the officer to get back he was doing the investigation.
Since she was leaving town for the holidays
and thought he was in good hands, she left for her on her trip not knowing he would be left in that condition. The officer also told
her that he was just on drugs, and another neighbor on the way to work walked up there, he was also told my brother was on drugs.
Last week the police finally got around to calling us only to tell us again that he was high on drugs. But thru all this I still
don't know why the police hasn't did anything or what it takes to get the police to investigate anything. When did the police become doctors?
Does a person have to die in front of the police for them to call a paramedic
Or get the license number and social security number of his assailant before the police will do anything. In my brothers
case his assailants will probably go free because now my brother doesn't remember anything about what happened, were he did when it
first happened. I hope the police are really proud of their selves by the way they handled this case. They should send the criminals
that like to beat the elderly citizens of Clearlake Christmas Cards for making their life and work so simple. Well I could go
forever with my disregard and disdain for that police department but I won't, the facts are what's important.

suggest: I hope someone really looks into the misgivings of the Clearlake police department. Find out why any especially a trained
police officer could walk away from someone hurt like that and try to justify it by saying he was on drugs. I pray we have come to
that state of mind "If not holyer than thou, you don't have anything coming from the police" Somebody Help. Thank You for listening
to my story.

comment: When Police Become Doctors!!!!!!!!!!
Someone tried to steal my 60 year old brothers truck on Nov. 25 in Clearlake. He was left with a knot on the back of his head, ribs
broken, left lung collapsed, hallucinating from lack of oxygen to his brain, his body swollen badly from the air escaping from his lung
and into his body cavity, arms and legs bleeding from being dragged. But when the police arrived they said he was high on
something. They told us when we called 911 he was high, they told the neighbors he was on drugs and left him there to fend for his
self. He would of died that day if we hadn't drove up there from our home in the bay area and found him and got him into the
hospital, were he stayed for the next 13 days. We finally got to bring him home yesterday and he 's still recovering. I just can't
fathom a trained police officer look at someone say their on drugs, when their actually dying right in front of them and walk off
and leave them. What kind of police department does Clearlake have? Don't they have any concern about the health and well being of
their elderly citizen? After all this the police still hasn't investigated the robbery attempt or the assault.

suggest: The unprofessional actions of the police department in Clearlake that jeopardizes the lives of its citizens, should be
brought before the Lake County Grand Jury and made to answer. My brother is a veteran, 60 years old, disabled, lives alone. Even
when his neighbor came to see if he wanted her to call a paramedic she was told to leave by (Doctor) policeman. Then just left
bleeding, confused, hallucinating and complaining of pain. This officer and this department needs to be held accountable.
