If your country is one where the income of the brothers is low, they may be limited in what they can do, but at the same time we do not want the brothers to leave the responsibility for caring for the expenses entirely to brothers in other countries. It is just a matter of proper education, patience, and time. If they are never told and the branch just goes ahead and pays all of the expenses, they will not come to appreciate their obligation and privilege. Just as we have to instruct the brothers in the congregation as to the need to cover Kingdom Hall expenses, so we have the privilege of helping them understand how the expenses of the branch organization and special pioneers and circuit and district overseers can be covered with their help. So it starts in the congregation. If the congregation is informed each month of their income and their expenditures so they can meet their obligations as a congregation in Godâ¤™s organization should, then they can also be helped to! see how they can have a share also in expanding the Kingdom work throughout the branch territory by their contributions. ALSO: Branches offer Humanitarian Aid... but only as a last resort and only for people who are "deserving"... also no one in the congregations should be told about this arrangement and any aid that is provided should be kept strictly confidential...... this is in harmony with the generosity and kindness shown by the first-century congregation. Branch Organization Manual - p1-9 90. HUMANITARIAN AID: In addition to major disasters, many of our faithful brothers suffer medical problems beyond their financial needs. As you are aware, Organized to Accomplish Our Ministry, pages 122 and 123, shows the first responsibility for such matters rests on the family of the individual, although at times material and other assistance is available through the congregation or through governmental or social agencies. When the individuals have exhausted such possibilities, the branches occasionally get pleas for assistance in connection with the necessities of life to help them obtain critical medications or with the cost of an operation. If the Branch Committee feels it is appropriate to assist financially in certain deserving cases because of lack of other support, it is left to the discretion of the committee to handle such matters, even up to US$1,000. Any request for humanitarian aid covering medical purposes beyond that should be referred to the Publishing Comm! ittee with an explanation and recommendation. Branch Committees will need to handle such matters with discretion and confidentiality so that the provision is not abused. Generally, this arrangement should be the exception rather than the rule. This information is not for publication to the congregations. However, if a congregation initiates a request for help from the branch, you may act upon it. This is in harmony with the generosity and kindness shown by the first-century congregation.â¤"Rom. 12:13. This excerpt is from a Manual that the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society uses to direct it's Branches on how the Organization is to function through out the world. Remember when disaster occurrs in the community even though the Jehovah's Witness Orgaganization holds real estate world wide and has assets totaling a at least a billion dollars the community will not be able to depend on it's local Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society are takers not givers, as they suggest that funds should come from the Society only as a last resort. The average JW doesn't even know there is a "Branch Manual" nor what is in it. I served as an elder in the Clearlake congregation and never heard of the "manual." Points to ponder and ask as you answer the Week end "KNOCK" on your door. 1. I suggest that you read the above excerpt to the Witnesses who want to share the GOOD NEWS with you. 2. Ask them, Who does your church consider "deserving ones" in your congregation? A.EG: When my wife had hip replacement surgery, my Son-In-Law, told us the body of elders took a vote on whether we were deserving of the congregation's help,and they deemed due to my inactivity we would not be receiving any help from the congregation. ( I'm not talking about financial aid, it was were we deserving of a cooked pot luck meal.) "God love um." I will leave each of you to consider the article and present your own questions. Keep this in mind that the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is listed with the IRS as a (501)(C3) Charitable Organization. comment: It's nice to be home again! I'm looking forward to getting out and seeing familiar faces from around here. As always I welcome details regarding circumstances of reality around our lake. It is unfortunate that reality has become such as it has around here. My prayers, as always, are with all of those whom have been affected in the worst of ways by the oppression of those we have allowed to grossly abuse positions of authority in our community. Perhaps our prayers are finally being answered, so please continue to pray for better days to come for all of us as well as our loved ones. It pleases me to no end that after all these years, through all of the battles we have witnessed or fought, some of us that were here when this all began to be a part of my life, are still here and will remain. For those whom I've been blessed with having made the aquintance of along my walk in life over the past decade who have proven to be decent people, I am thankful for. As for those I love, I couldn't have endured the conflict of the past decade, here in OUR Homeland, without. As far as I can tell, with each passing day the circumstances surrounding those I have mentioned continues to improve. Having said that, I hope we won't allow ourselves to forget about giving thanks for these blessings. Also, let us not stop praying. Now that physical answers to some of our prayers are being seen daily, I encourage all to be steadfast in your prayer. Those of us that are included in your prayers appreciate being remembered in such a special way. Hopefully, the worst of all of our days are in the past. May our enemies become fewer by the moment. I long for a day when our enemies will be no more. I have no concern for peace in the lives or deaths of our enemies, I simply pray for all of our nemesis to be gone, for good. One way or another I know this will eventually come to be. It would bring great joy to this heart of mine to experience such a wonderful event in the flesh while surrounded by loved ones. What once was inconcievable to me has now become a forseeable reality. May those, whom are deserving of such, be rewarded in all areas and ways they have earned. Yet, may those on the opposite end of principalities, also recieve all that they deserve in light of thier own darkness and wicked ways. These are the days of LOVE. May Love live in the hearts of us all so that our contribution to Love's eternal existance may ensure that all of our loved ones will forever remain with us. Keep those that try to fade from our memories at the top of our prayer lists so they will not so easily be forgotten. May all days to come be better than the last.

back in Sept. /04 I had a large ruptured disc while working for "under the table" wages on a resident property here in lake co. I worked while injured for about 2 months. the homeowner in question is employed by the local courthouse as( well, I don't want to say), if you have had any legal problems you may have had to deal with this gentleman. so, I'm working for this guy who had a local contractor hire me to do all the heavy labor for a bunch of construction work Mr. _____ is having done( the work being done, I was informed , had no permits obtained ). Only the two of us worked on his home( contractor & me). now, after 14 months of being laid up, I finally received a surgery thru UCSF & med I cal. I never have had one penny sent to me in way of temp benefits although I did collect state disability for about 5 months. I've not been able to work, therefore I've had to rely on churches & free food programs while my amazing gfriend has worked two jobs to support us with money for rent, electricity ect... things have been very tuff financially to say the least. my clutch on my pickup just went out 3 days ago - anyone do cheap work on vehicles?? Jesus, luck of the Irish, eh? anyway, I hired an attorney after learning how extensive my injury was. this mind you, after going to both contractor & homeowner & asking for simple prescription cost help. one said he was eating at the time & couldn't help, the other said I already had an existing back injury( though I never had ) & couldn't help either. -hmmm., but one bought a brand new truck 3 weeks later, the other had another 20,000.00$ of remodeling done to his home. so I go to the attorney, and get this - after learning that it was essential that I had check stubs or some sorta proof of how much they was paying me "under the table", I asked to have the attorney., subpoena(?) the bank records thru his assistant, this was in April/05'.
Lo & behold I finally get my deposition date( mind you the whole time from Nov./04- when I no longer could work anymore- I have been destitute& not making ANY money aside from State disability for about 5 months ), the attorney., brings me into his office and starts saying that there is no proof of my earnings - so I ask the inevitable - what happened when you tried to get the check records from the bank - the answer: we didn't contact the bank for those records! I asked why & he starts yelling at me about "well, did you pay taxes on that money?", " your story is bullshit ","this doesn't make any sense", and blah blah blah. the whole time I'm thinking - 'this is a set up'. Then he starts telling me I talk to much, I'm this, I'm that - the whole fucking time I'm sitting there completely floored! I couldn't fucking believe what he was saying to me, & his tone of voice & all the cursing at me. Is there another ploy I'm missing here? Does anyone know of any tactics an attorney would take on his own client remotely like this? I remember the other attorney in his firm was saying to me when he wasn't around that if this case went to trail it could get much uglier from the other side. this I understand, but shit man, having your own attorney( who is only being paid if you win your case ) chew you a new asshole doesn't seem normal. Then again I have never dealt with workers comp or had to hire an attorney. do they normally act like this? the only reason I have'nt fired his ass is everybody who has had him as their workers comp attorney has won & he has the reputation as being the best around at workers comp cases.
so is there anyone out there who might be able to shed some light on this for me? am I being set up here. I mean Jesus Christ, these people were family friends for gods sake. Now there defense is that I didn't hurt myself there, that I fell off a lateron another job, while I was working on Mr._____ property. That's ludicrous. I never worked for anyone else while I was working for Mr._____.

comment: No goverment service should commence unless it can provide a method of measuring the return to the public from its input/funding. Once a service is approved its must meet a minimum of valuable productively. Statistics on the value produced and performances of personnel should be readily accessible to the public. Ideally research and statistics should remove difficulties in making decisions or remove the need of most decision making. Such administration would be too exposed for corruption. If prosecutors were required to provide an assessment of actual damage to the people for each of its charges. Then compensation and rehabilitation could be a sought alternative before conviction or sentencing. Our jails would primarily contain people who were a risk to public well-being. With the low level of occupants in jails Tax dollars could go towards education that would end the need of jails by breeding awareness to overcome destructive behavior.
I believe good administration is the most streamline method to end corruption. Lies can only reside in hidden places. I know that even the best of ideas is unreliable with poor administration. Therefore adequate administration is top priority. Such
administration exists in many companies already. They manage the unknowns from their destruction. What if the President had unequivocal information from an unimpeachable source that no WMD existed?

Hard to believe? Yes. Unlikely? Maybe not. No more unlikely than the contrary assumption (that the President never had absolute evidence that no WMD existed) &endash; the assumption that underlies current efforts of those investigating cooked, exaggerated, or corrupted intelligence.

It answers a number of questions. (See below) Sure, like any hypothesis, concrete facts have yet to surface. Is it possible or just another conspiracy theory? How important are the unanswered questions? Is it reasonable to have a fuller explanation for the motives in the rush to war, Cheney's visits to the CIA, keeping Powell in the dark, Chalabi's reception?

It's too big not to investigate before the trail gets cold.

NO WMD! WHO KNEW AND WHEN DID THEY KNOW IT?
(When the facts don't answer the question, look for more facts.)

Q. Why the rush to war?
A. Bush's chief reason for war was at risk of being demolished... prior to the invasion.

Q: Why was Bush slow to admit that the CIA misled him?
A: Because he wasn't misled.

Q. Why did the Administration resist an intelligence review and stonewall
Part II?
A. The reasons, generally believed, are, as it happened, that real review would reveal how poorly the Administration weighed the incomplete and contradictory intelligence. But there is another reason that, because of the
focus on exaggerated claims for WMD, is yet to be investigated. What if the
resistance were fear that it would disclose Administration contacts with an
unimpeachable source of irrefutable information about the absence of Iraqi WMD,
not shared with CIA?

Q: What sources of information were available to the CIA?
A: Of the many sources of information one is rarely mentioned: The White
House. The Administration is itself a channel of information for
non-clandestine, human intelligence, obtained informally in private
conversations. Officials routinely receive and report information, not
directly or immediately available to intelligence sources. The information
may come from foreign government officials and intelligence operatives or from
private persons and firms. Heading the list of sources are persons in countries
that shared the interest in going to war. In addition, in countries opposing
war, there are well-placed officials who differ with their country's formal
position. It is likely that the information came from the same dissidents
upon whom so much of American intelligence relied. Thus, the likely profile:
one who had discovered the evidence of absence of WMD, who preferred a war, and
who, therefore, wanted to alert Administration officials so the information
could be suppressed or discredited if revealed by another source.

Q: How is it possible that this important information was not reported to the
CIA?
A: The recipient could fail to recognize the importance of a critical bit of information or dismisses it as rumor. There could be an inadvertent breakdown in communication. Or a different, more frightening, picture of deliberate withholding could emerge.

Q: But who with such information would not turn the information over to the
CIA?
A: Many in the current Administration would prefer not to learn such information, but conscience or fear would keep them from remaining silent.
Those officials would be unlikely to receive such information. The source could only deliver the information to someone able to protect the information and its source. Since that person's only restraint would be fear of detection if the
information surfaced elsewhere, the likely recipient is someone able test whether the CIA had or was likely to receive the same information.

Q. What was Dick Cheney doing at CIA headquarters in the weeks before the Administration relented to the intelligence inquiry?
A. Pushing for CIA to accept his unequivocal view of presence of WMD … or trying to find out how close the CIA might be to discovering the truth about WMD?

Q. Why the welcome mat for Chalabi on November 11, 2005 and why the pretence that his visits were casually accepted by cabinet members? Certainly, no cabinet member had to see Chalabi. They all must have had a White House okay.
Why?
A. Blackmail? If the suspicions above are true, Chalabi certainly knew what they had learned and he may have been the source.

comment: There's been a lot of talk and second-guessing and some legitimate criticism of lawyers and public defenders, yet a more critical job in the legal system is that of a juror, one that requires no special training or license but which can effect the lives of defendants profoundly and therefore one that most taken seriously and with maturity as it is at the heart of our democratic sytem.

Therefore it's real important that jurors listen carefully to the judge's instructions to say nothing of the testimony and the
lawyers arguments. Thus when the judge says you must reach your verdict unanimously that's what that means. It's not like at a political convention where after the majority candidate wins, eveyone else changes their vote as a feel good gesture of unity-this isn't an election, some guy's life could be at stake. It's NOT majority rule where someone gets "outvoted," its UNANIMITY.
Secondly, beyond a reasonable doubt, the judge will tell you means an abiding, meaning deep and long lasting belief in the guy's guilt as shown by the DA who has the burden of proof (it's not the defense's job to prove him innocent). If you come out of there after finding the guy guilty saying something like we couldn't understand what it was all about, or it was all Greek to us, then you must acquit because then the DA has not met his task to present a coherent and compelling case and its not the defense guy's job to make that case for him (and no you don't have the right to ask questions of witnesses under any circumstances, why? because those are the rules, period).

And why weren't certain witnesses called, because the lawyers are incompetent clowns? could be. could also be that much of a case goes down outside the presence of the jury with potential evidence being vetted for admissiblity before. Thus the defense maybe actually did have that witness or related evidence but the judge ruled that irrelevant and confusing to the charges as defined by the pertinent law and wouldn't let it come in. Thus when the judge says in his jury instructions, not all potential witnesses need be called and not to spectulate on that or his other rulings, it's important to appreciate that. Most importantly, it's real important that you LISTEN to the instructions about what the charges are that the guy is facing and their elements and not be off in a sob sister daydream land of prejudice or pity for the defendant which you were also told is prohibited. Thus in a hit and run case that happened to occur outside a third party's property, the issue of who owned that place is very marginal in relevance and would not resolve any material question in the case. Thus, hypothetically, someone giving us feedback actually thinking such a (rejected) witness would have resolved something would be very confused, not having understood the charges and what the case was about showing that he or she wasn't listening to closely to the case or the jury instruction as he wasn't charged with trespass or anything related to that parcel. Therefore please listen and try and do your job as it is the highest duty of citizenship before you give condenscending lectures to the lawyers because in a really serious felony case the consequences could be a real miscarriage of justice amounting to more than 5 days in jail. comment: I am responding to the feed back about the Clearlake police the lady in Concord wrote. She is correct. The Clearlake police are out of hand. They are the most despicable bunch of lazy, no good, corrupt, do nothing for their pay bums that ever walked the face of the earth.
It's unbelievable that when a woman calls saying a stranger is trying to beat down her door, it takes them 2 hours to get there.
When the same woman tells them someone is robbing things from a neighbors yard, it takes even longer.
Yet the same woman called because there was a possibility there was an officer in trouble, and every cop, ambulance and fire truck was there in less than 5 minutes. So I guess we are paying them to protect each other.
The only thing the Clearlake police department is doing now is red tagging property so it's police chief, and a few others can buy it up for pennies on the dollar.
I took a neighbor to the station one evening to file a charge on someone for doing something violent and making her face swell. We were there before 8pm. They didn't call her in till after 10pm. And all they were doing back there is sitting around watching tv.
Then after she made the report, they inform her that they don't make arrests after 10 pm. Oh, isn't THAT a good thing for
criminals to know? They never did make an arrest.
The Clearlake California Police department is so bad, they make the cops on Reno 911 look like an efficient, well oiled, crime
solving crew.
I am totally disgusted by the do nothings we have hired. Oh, but they do arrest people they know are docile, have committed minor offenses. And for the major things, they lie, and make things up, and get convictions on the poor who can't afford attorneys, and are forced to plea bargain.
The Clearlake Police Department makes me puke.

comment: I would like to give Mr. Robert Wiley props for speaking out to the person who said she adopted our babies and for putting her in perspective on how out of pocket her article actually was. It was good to hear Mr. Wiley admitt that it is about the $$$$$ not the children. The Adoption & Safe Families Act is kinda like the Three Strikes Law, meaning the ones who need it aren't actually getting it. Our children are worth more than the $4000.00 that the state recieves under the H.R bill 867, our children are priceless to us (their birth parents). I have faith that one day the corruption in our system will change, but it won't change if we continue to sit in silence and ignore or put up with the injustice that on a daily basis is being done. So to all the people out there who write to us parents & put us down and say cruel and hurtful things to us try to understand our position, until you have walked a day in our shoes don't judge. Just like the bible says let he who has not sinned cast the first stone. We are soliders and parents who will never give up,we are thankfull that we have had the strength to carry on and not have went insane or to have went postal & acted out in violence, instead we choose to write on this website & look for parents to recrute to make a change in the CPS system. That is something positive. Also some of you say we are drug addicts who didn't deserve their children, well let me start by educating you on a few things, Drug Addiction is a recognized disease just as cancer and diabeties, so don't put us down . I have been in a intensive day drug treatment program for almost 4 months now and I am learning alot,so don't knock me and say my babies are better off without me because they aren't. Maybe they are getting more material things but they will never get as much love as I gave them. When my babies where in foster care the foster mother said that she had never seen children that attached to their parent in a long time & that my children where very well raised & that she could see how much they where loved and trust & believe my babies where with me all the time along with at least 2 other children that weren't mine but where left with me because their parents where too busy running the streets. So don't talk about me or what I deserve or don't deserve because you don't know anything about me except how to stereo type all us parents who CPS has taken their children from. When you assume you make an ass out of you and me, my 7 th grade teacher taught me that . So do your research before you decide to speak on somethimg you know nothing about. To all the Parents out there caught in the crossfire with CPS please don't be afraid to stand up & make a difference, the worst we can do is go out tryin and that is more of a victory than staying silent and just giving up. I represent a lot of parents and kids in Lake County, and it is good that some kids get adopted into loving families. But that is
NOT always the case!
Not every kid is thrilled losing their birth parents! Sometimes we have to do it, because of conditions.
I feel compelled to address the mom who so hatefully brags about how she adopted some kids and is providing for them.
I am not really impressed with the tone of her comments. She seems to delight in putting down the birth parents.
True, some parents who sexually molest their kids, or parents who viciously abuse their kids probably don't deserve another chance.
For one, I am not in favor of giving mothers with drug problems only 6 months of services to try to cure their addiction. This short time span is for kids under three years of age.
This legislation was fueled by the Safe Adoption Act by the Feds and has to do with $$$$$ not whether the kid should be reunified.
6 Months may work for some-----but for severely addicted parents they need more time.
12 Months used to be the norm (regardless of the kid's age) but was changed to 6 months for kids under three.
Let's not be so fast to judge all parents as described by this so-called do gooder who seems to think she has done such a wonderful job in adopting the kids. Ever hear of post-adoption visitation agreements? In some cases it can be healthy.\

comment: I spent my early years growing up in lakeport at my gran's cabin on the lake. It was a beautiful place to be. Clear water past the end of the pier, lots of cattails and reeds, and sandy shores that the ducks would come by to be fed. Houses weren't many and those around had huge yards that were well taken care of. Downtown was casual and quiet. The only grocery store was next to the park which was clean and pleasant to visit. What's happen to this place? Over planning, not planning at all? Letting anybody or anything squat to take residence creating trash into more trash to invade what was once pure? I'm sure the noise level is out of bounds too. I remember many days and nights sitting on the pier looking over the lake at Mt. Konocti. What a beautiful mountain. Is it trashed too? I've heard every type of legend about her except the one I grew up with! Take Lakeport and the areas around there back to what they should be. Its not a highlife town! And it shouldn't be made into one. Stop the crowding, trashiness, wasting money on things not needed. Why do people have to wreck great places to visit and live? From what I've read about the way it is now, its ruined!!!!! Get council or others in there that care.

The woman who felt so sick before she knew her son was in critical condition: why are you still writing comments online and not out there trying to get to the hospital, where you could be closer to him and find out what is going on? For all the moms & dads complaining about cps and kids being removed, take responsibility for your life, your actions. If you are not honestly in a position to feed your kids or you are still on drugs or you have a mental illness, leave your kids alone and let them have a chance at life without your problems ruining theirs. Get it together, then complain about cps if they don't help you reconnect w/ kids. A parents love is only useful if it is also an action, not just words and feelings.Real love means putting the child first, even if that means giving up custody. Giving birth does not make a person a qualified mother and why do so many kids have to be stuck with a lousy lousy life and lousy lousy parents? Probably cuz most of the folks that get kids taken are either mentally ill or so screwed up that a judge couldn't possibly live with her/him self if they sent that kid back to the home in question. How does that make you angry parents who had their kids removed feel? I say leave your kids alone unless you get help and get on or off meds! cps may have problems but thank goodness that someone will do that difficult sad thankless job in the first place. You parents and your emotions aren't the first concern of people who care about children, the kids are most important and you just decided to have kids regardless of your own circumstances, that puts you in a very very selfish position. To give life isn't so great of you, its the nurture and rearing that counts.

comment: I have been reading alot of sad stories on this site. I think that most of you look down at anyone that has had C.P.S at their door. Do you ever think about offering a hand ,and opening your hearts to find out why this is going on. Have you asked them about thier childhood and what they grew up in, or have they been subject to abuse from their husbands ,boy friends. With ECS we have a three step process that generally takes about 3 days. After successful completion of these three steps the client's business is officially legally established(corporations, partnerships, licensing, permits, etc.). The next process is to find capital (Financing Round) this can take anywhere from 1 week to a few months, depending on what type of financing they are interested in (i.e. Grants, Loans, IPOs). The Next and final round for start-ups is Marketing (getting consumers) if both steps are down correclty this is usually not very difficult.
