ENVIRONMENTAL CRIMES

U.S. NATIONAL FOREST

EMBE$$LEMENT

Political Corruption Rampant!

Senate to vote soon on Baucus' "Wilderness Destruction" Bill S2137.

This bill preserves 1.9 million acres of rocks and ice.

The cost if it passes?

$1,000,000,000

Taxpayers dollars

Over the next 10 years to subsidize the timber industry in Montana alone, and the destruction of 5 million acres of the last remaining intact forest ecosystem in the lower 48 states to logging and extractive industries.

In a poll taken by Lee Newspapers of Montana on May 24-26 the citizens of Montana OPPOSED this bill 2 to 1 and voiced their support for the Northern Rockies Ecosystem Protection Act.

Citizens of the United States, we have lost our representation in Washington!

In 1992, then Senator Al Gore stated: "...this bill could greatly and irreparable alter the Earth's largest intact temperate forest ecosystem. Make no mistake, there are enormous pressures here in the U.S. to go into our national Forest Service land and log it even when we know is shouldn't be logged."

Q: Why is congress supporting a bill to legalize embezzlement of our National Resources?

A: Total Timber Industry PAC Contributions; to senators: 1987-1994 $2,547,176. To Representatives: 1991-1994 $3,047,934

".....the Forest Service has been one of the most mismanaged, poorly led, politically manipulated and corrupt agencies in the federal government."
